In November 2022, we at Rosie’s Creative worked alongside the Bimini Biological Field Station and artist Francesca Page to host a workshop called Art Meets Science. It was an absolute blast of a time, in one of the most beautiful settings in the world.
The participants in the workshop spent the time studying aquatic wildlife, taking in the sites, learning from Ms. Page’s expertise, and expressing the beauty they were seeing through the media about which they were learning. Developing an artist’s eye for shape, color, tone and movement, all of our participants brought their A game to learn and express themselves and their love of the earth in new ways.
Rosie’s Creative offered a $3,000.00 grant for one successful applicant to attend the workshop, and we saw tremendous work from numerous applicants! The grant winner was April Hugi, a marine scientist who also does multiple disciplines of visual art. Her amazing work, available through her Shopify store, uses various media and styles of art to demonstrate the beauty of nature, and particularly our oceans. We’ve also linked April’s Instagram so you can follow her and enjoy her art!
Rosie’s Creative thanks the Bimini Biological Field Station and Francesca Page for making this such a success. We had such a great time during this Art Meets Science, and it was so well received by both the participants and the Bimini Biological Field Station that we’re doing it some more! We’ll be hosting one more Art Meets Science workshop in 2023! Keep an eye out for news on this great opportunity to learn how to sign up and participate!
