Project Description

Courtland & Company Accounting came to Rosie’s Creative looking for an internet presence that would make their company stand out. Prior to contacting us, the company had no website, which is an essential part of growing a modern business. Our role was to create a modern website that was fully expandable and could be grown well into the future of their organization. Additionally, they were looking for a firm that they could develop a strong working relationship with to continue to maintain and grow their online presence.

Based on the results of our initial consultation, we decided that a website built with WordPress would be the best way to meet Courtland & Company’s needs. In order to provide a modern and relevant web presence, the new website needed to be able to convey essential information to their target audience quickly and easily. It also needed to be attractive and mobile friendly, as a majority of modern users are accessing websites on their phones now. We opted to use WordPress because of its expandability, its mobile responsive features, and its built-in SEO benefits, among other reasons. We built the new site using a fully custom theme designed with future growth in mind.

Courtland & Company Accounting wanted to communicate their dedication to supporting small and medium sized business owners on their path to financial and market success. As an important part of communicating reliability and clarity, the goal in building the website was to make sure the navigation was clear and easy to follow, with services clearly outlined and defined. The overall website was built to handle an expanding menu of services as the company expands, with room built in the back end for new sections to be added as needed. This is an example of forward-thinking design that maximizes the limits of current technology to keep a website relevant.

Our graphic design choices in creating the website’s unique look used the logo we developed with the client as our primary source of inspiration. Using that logo and a targeted brand design discovery process, we then selected the final color palette. The website’s color scheme pulls from the logo and expands on it, using a combination of soothing yet solid shades of blue and black, with white negative space for visual impact. The goal is to project an image that is both professional and restful, in order to reflect their commitment to maintaining smooth, reassuring, and skilled service for their clients. Typeface selections were made with a focus on readability and accessibility, using clean, modern sans serifs throughout the site.
